Bybit Review: Is the Up-to-250 USDT Referral Reward Worth the Trading?

Bybit reviewed for readers worldwide: who runs it and where it can't serve you, the three referral tasks worth up to 250 USDT for accounts opened since 10 October 2026, what that trading costs in fees, bonuses versus cash, the 2025 hack, user complaints and who should skip it.

Best for

Crypto traders living somewhere Bybit Global serves who would trade at least US$500 in their first month anyway and want spot, perpetuals and options in one account.

Sign up with code PZMR6A and a new Bybit Global account earns 50 USDT for a first trade of US$50 within 14 days, then 100 USDT at US$500 and another 100 USDT at US$10,000 of trading within 30 days of that first trade: 250 USDT at most. The fees are small next to that, with US$10,000 of spot trading costing about US$10 at 0.1%, so for someone who trades anyway the first two tasks are an easy 150 USDT. The real costs are the price risk on what you trade, a reward pool with a daily limit and a 3-day risk review, and an exchange that excludes the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Chinese mainland and draws frequent complaints about accounts held for weeks in compliance checks. Our call: worth it if you would trade US$500 anyway; don't trade US$10,000 just for the last 100 USDT.

Pros

  • Up to 250 USDT for a new account through code PZMR6A, starting with a US$50 first trade
  • Low base fees: 0.1% on spot, 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker on perpetuals, and no fee on crypto deposits
  • Spot, perpetuals, options, copy trading, Earn and a debit card in one account
  • A separate EU company, Bybit EU GmbH, holds a MiCAR licence from Austria's FMA for EEA customers
  • Kept withdrawals open after the US$1.4 billion hack in February 2025 and said client funds stayed backed 1:1
  • Highly rated apps: 4.7 on the US App Store and 4.6 on Google Play

Watch-outs

  • Not available in the US, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore and several other places
  • Rewards come from a 500,000 USDT monthly pool with a daily claim limit
  • Each reward has to be claimed within 10 days, after a 3-day risk review
  • Bonus-type rewards can't be withdrawn; only the profit you make with them can
  • A Trustpilot score of 2.4 from 7,728 reviews, mostly about restricted accounts and slow compliance checks
  • The code can't be added after you sign up

What Bybit is and who can use it

Bybit is a crypto exchange launched in 2018. One account covers spot trading, perpetual and dated futures, options, copy trading, trading bots, Earn savings products and, in some regions, the Bybit Card. Our link opens Bybit Global. People in the European Economic Area are served by a different company, Bybit EU GmbH, on bybit.eu: it holds a MiCAR licence from Austria's Financial Market Authority and covers every EEA country except Malta. Bybit's referral FAQ says the programme described here is for Bybit Global users only, and regional sites run their own promotions.

Bybit Global doesn't serve residents of the United States, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Syria, Crimea and the non-government-controlled parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Where you live decides it, not your passport. Bybit says it can close the account and liquidate open positions of anyone who misstates their location, so never sign up through a VPN.

Custody and the February 2025 hack

Bybit is a custodial exchange: it holds the keys to everything in your account, and no deposit-protection scheme covers crypto held there. On 21 February 2025 attackers took about US$1.4 billion of ETH and stETH from one of Bybit's ETH cold wallets by manipulating the interface its staff used to sign a routine transfer, one of the largest thefts in crypto's history.

Bybit kept trading, deposits and withdrawals running and says client funds remained backed 1:1 throughout. That response is a point in its favour, but the incident is the reason to keep on Bybit only what you are actively trading, turn on two-factor authentication and move longer-term holdings to a wallet you control.

The referral reward: three tasks, up to 250 USDT

For accounts opened from 12:00 UTC on 10 October 2026 with code PZMR6A, Bybit pays three task rewards. First Trade: a first trade of at least US$50 within 14 days of signing up pays 50 USDT. More Trade: at least US$500 of cumulative trading within 30 days of that first trade pays 100 USDT. Advanced Trade: at least US$10,000 of cumulative trading in the same 30 days pays another 100 USDT. That is 250 USDT for you if you complete all three.

The first trade can be on spot, derivatives, options, Alpha, TradFi CFDs, Odds, Earn, Convert or Direct Stocks. Volume for the next two tasks counts spot, derivatives, options, Alpha, Odds, Convert and Direct Stocks across your main account and subaccounts, but zero-fee pairs don't count. The code has to be on the account when you register: Bybit says a friend who forgot the code is not recognised as a referee, and it can't be added later.

Bybit's referral tasks for accounts opened from 10 October 2026: sign up with code PZMR6A; a first trade of $50 or more within 14 days pays 50 USDT; $500 traded within 30 days of the first trade pays 100 USDT; $10,000 traded in the same 30 days pays another 100 USDT. A 3-day risk review applies, then 10 days to claim; rewards come from a 500,000 USDT monthly pool with a daily limit, and zero-fee pairs don't count.

How and when the rewards arrive

Every reward goes through a 3-day risk review before it is credited, and once it is distributed you have 10 days to claim it in the Rewards Hub before it expires. Bybit funds the programme from a monthly pool of 500,000 USDT with a daily claim limit. Rewards are handed out first come, first served, with priority for referees who have traded more; if the day's allowance runs out you can claim the next day, as long as the monthly pool lasts. Wash trading, multiple accounts or other abuse cancels the reward.

Bybit's FAQ calls these USDT rewards but doesn't say on that page whether each one arrives as withdrawable USDT or as a trading bonus; the reward details page in your account says which. The difference matters: Bybit's bonuses can be used as margin or to offset losses and fees, but the bonus itself can't be withdrawn, only the profit made with it, and a copy-trading bonus is lost if you unfollow the trader. Bybit also offers referred users an extra US$100 welcome gift, with its own tasks listed in the Rewards Hub.

Disclosure: PZMR6A is BonusRoam's own code. When you complete a task, Bybit pays us the same task reward, and it pays us a commission of 20% to 30% of the net trading fees your account generates for 365 days. None of it comes out of your balance or your reward.

What it's worth: a worked example

Say you buy US$250 of bitcoin on spot and sell it a week later. That is US$500 of volume, which covers both the First Trade and the More Trade tasks for 150 USDT. At 0.1% a side the fees come to US$0.50. Your real exposure is the price of US$250 of bitcoin for a week, which can easily move more than the fees in either direction.

The Advanced Trade task needs US$10,000 of volume, for example one round trip of US$5,000. On spot that costs about US$10 in fees, or US$5.50 as a perpetuals taker, for 100 USDT. The fee is not the problem; the position is. A 2% move against a US$5,000 position costs US$100, the whole reward, and with leverage the same loss arrives from a smaller move. Do the third task only if that volume is trading you would do anyway.

What Bybit's referral volume costs in trading fees at non-VIP rates: a $50 first trade costs $0.05 on spot, $0.03 as a perpetuals taker and $0.01 as a maker, for 50 USDT; $500 traded costs $0.50, $0.28 or $0.10, for 100 USDT; $10,000 traded costs $10.00, $5.50 or $2.00, for 100 USDT. A 2% move against a $5,000 position costs $100, the whole of the last reward.

Fees

Non-VIP trading fees are 0.1% for both makers and takers on spot crypto pairs, 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker on perpetuals and futures, and 0.02% maker and 0.03% taker on options. VIP levels lower these based on your assets or 30-day volume and refresh daily at 07:00 UTC. Bybit says the actual rate varies by region, and the My Fee Rate page shows yours after identity verification.

Crypto deposits and transfers between Bybit accounts are free. Withdrawals carry a fixed fee per coin and network, shown in the withdrawal window. Buying crypto with a card goes through a provider that sets its own fee, P2P trading has no Bybit fee, perpetual positions pay or receive funding every few hours, borrowing for margin or crypto loans charges hourly interest, and liquidations cost 2% on spot margin and crypto loans and 0.2% on options, with no liquidation fee on perpetuals.

Copy trading, Earn and the card

Older Bybit referral screens showed separate rewards for Earn savings, a Bybit Card application and copy trading. Those tasks applied to accounts opened before 10 October 2026; new sign-ups get the three trading tasks above instead.

The products themselves remain. Copy trading follows another trader's positions, including the losses and any leverage they use, so size it as if you had placed the trades yourself. Earn's Flexible and Fixed Savings pay a return on coins you lend through Bybit, and the Bybit Card is only issued in some regions; the app shows whether you can apply.

What users complain about

On 24 October 2026 Bybit's app was rated 4.7 from 46,907 ratings on the US App Store and 4.6 from about 1.43 million reviews on Google Play. Many of the five-star reviews are posts pushing other referral codes, which flatters those scores. Trustpilot, where the reviews skew towards people with a problem, gives Bybit 2.4 from 7,728 reviews.

The recurring complaints are accounts restricted suddenly, often after a small or declined transfer; anti-money-laundering reviews that run for weeks with no timeline; template answers from support; fiat deposits that don't arrive; and scams in P2P trades. Bybit replies to most negative reviews and asks for the user ID and case number.

Signing up and leaving

Open our link, check that PZMR6A appears in the referral field, and register with your email or phone number. Complete identity verification for your country before you deposit; Bybit shows your actual fee rate only after it. Then make the first trade of at least US$50 within 14 days.

To leave, close your positions, redeem anything in Earn, and withdraw your coins to a wallet you control, checking the network and fee in the withdrawal window. Don't leave balances sitting on an account you no longer use: if it is restricted, getting them out can take weeks.

Who should get it, and who should skip it

Get it if you live somewhere Bybit Global serves, you already trade crypto, and US$500 in your first month is normal for you: the first two tasks then pay 150 USDT for fees under a dollar. Traders who want perpetuals and options in the same account will find the base fees competitive.

Skip it if you live in an excluded country or the EEA, if you would be trading only to collect the reward, or if you can't afford to have your balance frozen for a few weeks during a compliance check. Don't chase the US$10,000 task with leverage.

FAQ

Which Bybit referral code should I use?
PZMR6A, entered when you register or carried by our link. It can't be added after the account exists.
How much can a new account earn?
Up to 250 USDT: 50 for a first trade of US$50 within 14 days, 100 at US$500 of trading and 100 more at US$10,000, both within 30 days of the first trade.
Do I need to deposit a set amount?
No separate deposit task applies to accounts opened since 10 October 2026, but you need at least US$50 in the account to make the first trade.
Is the reward cash I can withdraw?
It depends on the reward type shown in your account. Bonuses can be traded with but not withdrawn; only the profit made with them can be.
Why hasn't my reward arrived?
Each reward has a 3-day risk review, and the daily pool can run out, in which case you claim the next day. Claim within 10 days of distribution or it expires.
Can I get it if I already have a Bybit account?
No. The tasks are for a new account opened with the code, and multiple accounts disqualify you.
Is Bybit available where I live?
Not in the US, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore and a few other places. EEA residents are served by Bybit EU, which runs its own promotions.
Was Bybit hacked?
Yes. About US$1.4 billion of ETH and stETH was stolen from a cold wallet on 21 February 2025. Bybit kept withdrawals open and says client funds stayed backed 1:1.
