Question 1

What do I get by using this Capital One referral link?

Accepted Answer

The link takes you to Capital One's eligibility check and card offers. Any welcome offer depends on the card you're approved for and posts within two billing cycles of meeting its spend requirement; there's no separate referral bonus for you.

Question 2

Will checking eligibility hurt my credit score?

Accepted Answer

Capital One says the check takes as little as 90 seconds and won't harm your credit score. Applying for a card is a credit application.

Question 3

Who can apply through the link?

Accepted Answer

You need an address in the 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico or a US military location, a valid SSN or ITIN, and to be 18 or over. You aren't eligible after two or more Capital One applications in 30 days, or with a credit freeze or lock in place.

Question 4

Can I use it if I already have a Capital One card?

Accepted Answer

You can still apply, but the referral won't count if you already hold an open Capital One consumer or small business card as the primary account holder. A current Discover cardholder who isn't a Capital One customer still counts as new.
