Grokified Review UK: Is Half-Price Grok API Access Worth $5?

Grokified reviewed for UK developers: what our link gives you, the lifetime 50% discount against xAI's own prices, what $5 really buys, the Basic, Pro and Max plans, setting it up in Claude Code and Cursor, who runs it, what it keeps, and who should skip it.

A developer's desk in a UK flat at night: a laptop with a softly glowing screen, a second monitor, headphones and a mug of tea under a warm desk lamp

Best for

Developers who want cheap Grok-labelled models in Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or their own scripts, will start with a $5 top-up, and only send code or text they wouldn't mind a third party holding for 30 days.

Grokified charges half of xAI's list price on every request for the life of the account, with no cap. Through our link a $5 first payment puts $15 on the balance, which is $30 of list-price usage, or about 187 coding-agent calls of 50,000 input and 10,000 output tokens on grok-4.6. The catches are real: nothing runs until you pay, the company was only incorporated in June 2026, it doesn't say who actually serves the models, and all traffic goes through a shared upstream account that can rate-limit you whatever your balance. Our call: worth $5 to try for code and non-sensitive work; keep top-ups small and ask for unused balance back within 30 days if it doesn't suit you.

Pros

  • 50% off list price on every request for the life of the account, with no savings cap and no claim step
  • Through our link, a $5 first payment puts $15 on your balance
  • Grokified's list prices match xAI's own, so the discount is a real half
  • One OpenAI- and Anthropic-style endpoint, plus a CLI that sets up Claude Code, Codex and ten other tools
  • A UK company under English law, with unused top-ups refundable within 30 days
  • Requests and responses are deleted after 30 days and never used for training

Watch-outs

  • Nothing runs until you pay: the signup credit stays locked until your first payment
  • Grokified doesn't say who serves its models and calls the model names compatibility labels
  • A shared upstream account means 429 errors when it is busy, whatever your balance
  • Incorporated in June 2026, with no public reviews yet
  • Bonus credit and used usage are non-refundable, and plans aren't prorated when you cancel
  • Its own pages disagree on whether cards are charged in dollars or pounds

$5 + $5 credit

Sign up via this Grokified referral for a $5 signup credit (prepaid usage credit, not cash). It stays locked until your first payment, and a first payment of $4.99 or more adds another $5, so a $5 top-up gives a $15 balance. Grokified is an OpenAI-compatible API for IDEs and coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and similar). Every account gets 50% off all usage for the life of the account, with no ceiling, code or claim step. Optional Basic / Pro / Max plans multiply prepaid credits. Requests and responses are kept for 30 days and never used for training. Grokified is an independent gateway run by DEEPORAX AI LTD (UK company, incorporated 22 June 2026); its terms say it is not a reseller of any model vendor, and it is not an official xAI product. USD pricing; subscription auto-renew follows live billing terms (plans say cancel anytime).

Requirement: A first payment of at least $4.99 (top-ups from $5, or Basic) unlocks the credit; nothing runs before it.

Easy5-15 minutesPayout The $5 signup credit lands on account creation but stays locked until your first payment; a first payment of $4.99 or more adds $5 more (a $5 top-up gives a $15 balance)

What Grokified is and who runs it

Grokified is a prepaid, OpenAI-compatible API aimed at coding tools. You load a dollar balance, point Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or your own code at https://api.grokified.com/v1 with a gk_live_ key, and each request is deducted from the balance in real time. There is no monthly invoice; when the balance hits zero, calls fail with a 402 error. It also runs a web playground, image and video studios and a Telegram bot on the same balance.

It is run by DEEPORAX AI LTD, company number 17293947, registered in England and Wales with an office in Oldham. Companies House shows it was incorporated on 22 June 2026, so it is a few months old. It describes itself as an independent gateway, not xAI and not Groq, and isn't VAT-registered, so no VAT is added. Your balance is prepaid credit with a supplier, not a deposit: FSCS doesn't cover it, and if the company folds the balance goes with it.

What's behind the Grok model names

The models carry xAI's names, from grok-4.3 to grok-4.7 and grok-build-0.1, and Grokified's Messages API page says the models are Grok underneath. Its terms are more careful: they call the model names compatibility labels, say Grokified is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a reseller of any model vendor, and say the models are supplied by third parties it doesn't name. Its rate-limit page adds that requests run through a shared upstream account.

In practice that means you can't confirm which model answers a given request, and the service depends on an upstream arrangement Grokified doesn't disclose. If that arrangement ends, so does the service. That is fine for trying a cheap coding model on your own projects; it is a poor foundation for a product your customers depend on.

Models and prices

Grokified lists eight text models. grok-4.3 and the three grok-4.20 variants cost $0.63 per million input tokens and $1.25 per million output tokens; grok-4.5, grok-4.6 and the flagship grok-4.7 cost $1.00 and $3.00; grok-build-0.1, the coding model, costs $0.50 and $1.00. Images cost $0.01 each and video $0.025 a second. Every figure is exactly half the list price xAI publishes for the same names on prompts under 200,000 tokens, so the discount is genuine against xAI's own rates.

The 50% applies to every token type, including cached input and reasoning tokens, on every request for the life of the account, with no seat, code or savings ceiling. Prompt caching is automatic and Grokified bills cached input at 75% to 85% below fresh input. A prepaid account can use every model except grok-4.7, which needs the Basic plan; Grokified's terms let it withdraw the discount for new sign-ups, while existing accounts keep it.

What our link gives you

Sign up through our link and your account gets $5 of signup credit, locked until your first payment, plus another $5 when that first payment is $4.99 or more, once per account. A $5 top-up therefore puts $15 on the balance, all spent at the 50% rate. The credit is dollars of Grokified usage, not cash, and bonus credit is never refunded; if the first payment is refunded, the $5 bonus is taken back. Sign-ups that share an IP address, email or card with the referrer are rejected and get nothing.

The link sets a 60-day, first-touch cookie, so open it before creating the account in the same browser, and don't type any other invite code on the sign-in screen, because a typed code replaces the link. Disclosure: 4pxer5cu is BonusRoam's own referral code, so Grokified pays us 30% of what you pay in top-ups and subscriptions, for as long as your account pays, plus a one-time $5 credit after your first payment. Grokified pays it; nothing comes out of your balance.

What $5 actually buys

Take a typical coding-agent request: 50,000 tokens of context in and 10,000 tokens out on grok-4.6. At xAI's list price that is $0.16; on Grokified it is $0.08. A $15 balance from a $5 first payment covers about 187 such requests, against about 93 at list price. At the European Central Bank's 23 October 2026 rates, $5 is about £3.74 and $15 about £11.22.

Real agent sessions vary a lot, because tools such as Claude Code resend large contexts on every step and caching cuts the repeat cost. Every response carries the list price, the charge and the remaining balance, so after a day's work the dashboard tells you your own cost per task. Use that number, not ours, before topping up again.

What a $5 first payment buys through our link: $5 paid, plus the $5 signup credit it unlocks, plus a $5 first-payment bonus, makes a $15 balance, worth $30 of usage at list price. One grok-4.6 call of 50,000 input and 10,000 output tokens costs $0.16 at list price and $0.08 on Grokified, so $15 covers about 187 calls against 93 at list price.

The Basic, Pro and Max plans

Plans are monthly subscriptions that load credit each cycle. Basic costs $4.99 and adds $7.49 of credit, worth $14.98 at list price; Pro costs $9.99 for $19.99 of credit ($39.98); Max costs $49.99 for $120 ($240). Basic also unlocks grok-4.7, higher-quality images, Video 1.5 and voice; Pro adds realtime voice and remote MCP servers; Max adds priority. Every plan gets the same +$5 bonus on the first payment.

Plans renew automatically until you cancel on the Billing page, and Grokified doesn't refund or prorate the rest of a period. It doesn't say whether unused plan credit rolls over, so match the plan to what you actually spend. The site also advertises a two-month half-price promotion on plans without publishing its terms, so judge a plan at its full price. If you spend under about $5 a month, stick to top-ups; if you want grok-4.7, Basic is the cheapest way in.

Grokified plans compared: prepaid top-ups from $5 cover every model except grok-4.7; Basic at $4.99 a month adds $7.49 of credit, worth $14.98 at list price, and unlocks grok-4.7, quality images, Video 1.5 and voice; Pro at $9.99 adds $19.99, worth $39.98, plus realtime voice and remote MCP; Max at $49.99 adds $120, worth $240, plus priority.

Setting it up in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex

Any tool that accepts a custom OpenAI base URL works with https://api.grokified.com/v1 and your gk_live_ key. Grokified also serves an Anthropic-style Messages API at /v1/messages, which is the shape Claude Code and the anthropic SDK expect; point the SDK at https://api.grokified.com and it adds the path itself.

The quicker route is the CLI: npm install -g grokified, then grokified login and grokified setup. It writes the base URL into each tool's own config, for example ~/.claude/settings.json for Claude Code and ~/.codex/config.toml for Codex, and covers opencode, Crush, Goose, Qwen Code, Aider and Zed too. Claude Code runs through a local relay on 127.0.0.1:4111 that holds your key. The CLI has no undo command, so note your existing settings before you run it.

What users run into

There's no app-store listing to rate, and on 24 October 2026 Grokified's Trustpilot profile, claimed in September 2026, had no reviews at all. For a service this new, its own error documentation is the clearest picture of the friction.

Unpaid accounts are capped at 32,000 input tokens per request (a 413 error), which a coding agent exceeds quickly, and they share a daily budget that pauses all free accounts when it runs out. A paying account loses both limits for good, but a 429 error still appears whenever the shared upstream account is over its rate, and Grokified tells you to retry with backoff because the error doesn't reliably say when. Expect the occasional stalled agent step, and keep a second provider configured for deadlines.

What happens to your prompts

Grokified keeps copies of your requests and responses for 30 days for your history, support and abuse or billing investigations, then deletes them automatically; generated images and video are mirrored for 24 hours. It says it never uses prompts or outputs to train any model and never sells them. Upstream model providers receive your requests, but the privacy policy doesn't name them, and some processors sit outside the UK and EEA under the UK IDTA or EU standard contractual clauses.

The site sets first-party cookies only, and using it from an IDE sets none. Grokified doesn't publish an ICO registration number, though the policy names the ICO for complaints. Keep client code, credentials and personal data out of it; for open-source work and side projects the 30-day window is a reasonable trade.

Refunds, cancelling and paying from the UK

Unused prepaid balance is refundable within 30 days of the top-up, to the original card, within 5 to 10 business days of approval; ask [email protected] from your account email with the transaction reference. Consumed usage, bonus credit and usage through a leaked key are not refundable. As a UK consumer you can also cancel a plan's first payment within 14 days for a full refund, as long as none of that period's credit has been used. Billing errors must be reported within 60 days.

Grokified's pricing page says cards are charged in US dollars, while its billing docs say charges are collected in pounds; the checkout shows which. If it is dollars, your card's non-sterling transaction fee applies unless you use a no-fee card. At these sizes Section 75 doesn't apply, so a chargeback is the fallback, and Grokified asks you to contact support first. The card statement shows GROKIFIED AI.

Who should use it, and who should skip it

Use it if you want a cheap coding model in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, are happy with Grok-labelled models, and will start with a $5 top-up to see your real cost per task. It is also an inexpensive way to experiment with the API for side projects.

Skip it if you need to know which model and provider handle your data, need confidential handling, or are building something customers rely on. Skip it too if you were hoping to use the free credit without paying: nothing runs until the first payment.

FAQ

What does the Grokified link give me?
$5 of signup credit, unlocked by your first payment, plus $5 more when that payment is $4.99 or more. A $5 top-up puts $15 on the balance, spent at 50% off.
Can I use the free credit without paying?
No. The signup credit stays locked until your first payment, and unpaid accounts are also capped at 32,000 input tokens per request.
Is the 50% off permanent?
Grokified's terms give every account 50% off list price for the life of the account, with no savings cap. It may stop offering it to new sign-ups; existing accounts keep it.
Is Grokified official xAI?
No. It is run by DEEPORAX AI LTD, a UK company, says it isn't affiliated with any model vendor, and calls its model names compatibility labels.
Does it work with Claude Code?
Yes. Grokified serves an Anthropic-style Messages API, and its CLI configures Claude Code through a local relay; Cursor and Codex use the OpenAI-style base URL.
Can I get my money back?
Unused prepaid balance within 30 days of the top-up. Used credit, bonus credit and the unused part of a plan period aren't refunded.
Does Grokified keep my prompts?
For 30 days, then it deletes them. It says it never trains on them or sells them, but it doesn't name the upstream providers that process them.
Will I pay in pounds or dollars?
Its pages disagree, so check the checkout. A dollar charge adds your card's non-sterling fee; no VAT is added because Grokified isn't VAT-registered.
