HoteLux Review: Luxury Hotel Perks Through an App, and What They're Worth
HoteLux reviewed for travellers in Britain: the free invite, what its member rates include (breakfast, up to US$200 of hotel credit, upgrades, late check-out), how to value them against booking direct, the paid Elite tiers, who runs it and the catches.
Last updated 24 October 2026

Best for
Travellers in Britain who already book four- and five-star hotels from groups such as Four Seasons, Hyatt, Marriott or Mandarin Oriental, and who will compare the HoteLux rate with the hotel's own flexible rate before booking.
Join through the invite and use HoteLux as a second quote for luxury stays, not as a bonus. Registration is free and there's no sign-up reward: the value sits on the booking. HoteLux sells rates from hotel groups' invitation-only agent programmes and lists daily breakfast, up to US$200 of hotel dining or spa credit, an upgrade and early check-in or late check-out when the hotel has space, plus points from both the hotel and HoteLux. On a two-night stay at £600 a night, breakfast for two and a US$100 credit are worth about £235 if you'd buy them anyway, so book through HoteLux when its rate is within that of the hotel's own. The catches: a small operator with very few app ratings, a Singapore travel-agent licence suspended for missed filings in December 2025, and paid tiers from US$349 a year that you don't need to start.

What HoteLux is
HoteLux calls itself a membership-based luxury travel agent offering instant booking confirmation. Hotel groups run invitation-only programmes for travel agents whose rates come with extras for the guest; HoteLux puts those rates in an app, so you book them yourself instead of going through an advisor. The programmes it lists are Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Shangri-La The Luxury Circle, Hyatt Privé, Marriott STARS and Luminous, Mandarin Oriental Fan Club, VITA by The Leading Hotels of the World, The Peninsula PenClub, Rosewood Elite, Hilton Impresario and IHG Luxury & Lifestyle.
The App Store seller is Hotelux Pte Ltd in Singapore, Google Play lists a Shanghai-registered developer, and HoteLux gives offices in Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai. On 16 December 2025 the Singapore Tourism Board suspended Hotelux Pte Ltd's travel-agent licence, TA03525, for failing to file its audited accounts or annual business return; such a suspension lasts until the filings arrive or six months at most, and stops new bookings while it runs. The app was updated on 17 October 2026.
What the invite gives you
The invite page says your friend "invited you to join HoteLux. Upon successful registration, you will be able to enjoy exclusive HoteLux member benefits." That is the whole offer: a free account with access to member rates. There's no cash, points or credit for signing up, so the invite is worth nothing until you book a stay.
Disclosure: the invite link is BonusRoam's own, and it registers us as the member who invited you. HoteLux doesn't publish any reward for inviters.
What a member rate can include
HoteLux lists these benefits on its app listings: daily breakfast, up to US$200 of hotel dining or spa credit, a complimentary room upgrade when available, early check-in and late check-out when available, welcome amenities, points from both the hotel's loyalty programme and HoteLux, and pay-at-check-in rates with flexible cancellation.
Not every rate carries every benefit. Each rate in the app shows which ones apply, and the credit varies by hotel and programme, so US$200 is the top of the range rather than the norm. The booking confirmation is what the hotel honours: screenshot it, and ask at check-in for anything that is subject to availability.
What it's worth: a two-night example
Take a two-night stay where the flexible rate is £600 a night both on HoteLux and direct, breakfast costs £40 a person, and the rate carries a US$100 credit. Breakfast for two on both mornings is worth £160 and the credit about £75 (£74.80 at the European Central Bank rate of US$1 = £0.748 on 23 October 2026), so the member rate adds about £235 to a £1,200 stay, before any upgrade or late check-out.
That gives you a simple rule: if the hotel's own rate, or a prepaid deal you're happy with, is more than about £235 cheaper over those two nights and you'd skip the breakfast, book direct. If the prices are close and you'll eat the breakfast and use the credit, the HoteLux rate wins. These are assumptions; plug in your own hotel's prices.
Rates, payment and cancellation
HoteLux advertises flexible cancellation, so compare like with like: its price against the hotel's own flexible rate for the same room and dates, then separately against any cheaper prepaid deal. Check the total with taxes and any resort fee, the cancellation deadline, and whether you pay at check-in or upfront.
Note the currency too. If HoteLux charges you in US dollars, a UK card can add a foreign transaction fee that eats into the perks, whereas a pay-at-check-in rate at a UK hotel is charged in pounds. If you prepay more than £100 on a UK credit card, Section 75 gives you a claim against the card provider if the booking goes wrong.
Points and the paid tiers
HoteLux says its bookings earn the hotel's own loyalty points as well as HoteLux points, which it calls a double dip. Make sure your hotel membership number is on the reservation so the stay counts.
HoteLux also sells paid tiers on its website: Elite at US$349 a year, Elite Plus at US$499 and 1A Club at US$999, about £261, £373 and £747. Its KrisFlyer page shows paid members converting HoteLux points to Singapore Airlines miles at 1:3 (Elite), 1:4 (Elite Plus) and 1:5 (1A Club), and members matched to Elite or Elite Plus had to book 15 or 30 nights a year through HoteLux to keep it. Don't pay for a tier until you've booked a few stays on the free account and can see what it adds in the app.
What users say
On 24 October 2026 the HoteLux app had 2.3 from three ratings on the UK App Store and 1.7 from nine on the Hong Kong store, while Google Play showed more than 50,000 downloads but too few ratings for a score. The latest version, 5.5.4 on 17 October 2026, "fixed known issues".
That's far too little to judge service. The one recent written UK review, from March 2025, complained that the app showed a black screen after an iOS update. Treat the thin record as a reason to prefer pay-at-check-in or credit-card bookings and to keep your confirmation handy.
Signing up through the invite
Open the invite and register with your email (HoteLux sends a code, then you set a password) or with Google or Facebook. Download the HoteLux app and log in with the same account, then search your dates and pick a rate that shows member benefits.
Before paying, save the benefit list, total price, payment currency and cancellation terms. HoteLux's contact address is [email protected], and the Google Play listing says you can ask for your data to be deleted if you leave.
Who should use it, and who should skip it
Use it if you already stay at luxury hotels from the groups HoteLux covers, value breakfast and in-hotel credit, and are willing to compare two quotes before every booking. It costs nothing to have the account ready for the next trip.
Skip it if you book mid-range hotels, chase the cheapest prepaid rate, or would rather book a hotel group's own member rate for status credits you can see. And skip the paid tiers unless you'll book well over a dozen nights a year through HoteLux.
FAQ
- What do I get for joining through the invite?
- A free HoteLux account with access to its member rates. There's no cash, points or credit for signing up.
- What can a member rate include?
- Daily breakfast, up to US$200 of dining or spa credit, an upgrade and early check-in or late check-out when available, welcome amenities, and points from both the hotel and HoteLux. Each rate shows which apply.
- Do I get US$200 of credit on every stay?
- No. US$200 is the top of the range; the credit varies by hotel and programme, and the rate in the app shows the amount.
- Is HoteLux cheaper than booking direct?
- Compare its rate with the hotel's own flexible rate for the same room. In our example, the perks are worth about £235 over two nights, so direct only wins if it's cheaper by more than that.
- Do I still earn hotel loyalty points?
- HoteLux says you earn both the hotel's points and HoteLux points. Make sure your membership number is on the reservation.
- Do I need a paid tier?
- No. Joining is free; Elite (US$349), Elite Plus (US$499) and 1A Club (US$999) are optional yearly upgrades.
- Is it safe to book with HoteLux?
- It's a small operator: Singapore suspended its travel-agent licence in December 2025 for missed filings, and its apps have very few ratings. Prefer pay-at-check-in rates or pay by credit card, and keep your confirmation.
